Ecosol has a dedicated Asset Management Division to help you not only determine how often your Stormwater Quality Management System Product should be cleaned but also with the cleaning and maintenance itself.

Ecosol Asset Management Services Programs

An essential element of any good stormwater management program includes regular inspections, cleaning, and maintenance of installed pollution control devices to ensure that they continue to capture and retain pollutants to its designed specifications without premature by-pass.

Cleaning Schedules

Cleaning frequencies will vary and depend on the type of unit installed, weather patterns, pollutant loadings, and other activity within the catchment. Under normal operating conditions, we recommend:

  • two-monthly cleans for at –source primary and secondary treatment devices such as the EcosolTM Litter Basket and the EcosolTM Storm Pit;
  • Quarterly cleans for the larger Primary Gross Pollutant Trap Systems such as the EcosolTM GPT, the EcosolTM Net Guard and the EcosolTM Trash Rack Systems;
  • annual cleans for secondary and tertiary systems such as the EcosolTM Sand Filter and the EcosolTM Bio Filter; and
  • for the EcosolTM Rain Tank (Rainwater Storage and Re-use system) as it is self-cleaning and therefore, largely maintenance-free with only periodic inspections needed.

EcosolTM has a dedicated Asset Management Division to help you not only determine how often your unit should be cleaned but also with the cleaning and maintenance itself. We offer:

  • The use of high-performance equipment operated by experienced staff;
  • A long-standing record in safe work practices, supported by Quality Assured processes.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with all popular types and brands of GPTs (including CDS, Rocla, and Baramy);
  • An complete understanding of pollution removal and disposal regulations and processes that ensures your unit is cleaned effectively and efficiently without risk of damage;
  • Useful, easy-to-read reports, allowing you to track performance and pollution loading patterns;
  • Tailored service contracts to suit individual requirements.

Cleaning Methods

To ensure that all captured pollutants are removed, EcosolTM units are best cleaned by vacuum (although the EcosolTM Litter Basket can be cleaned by manually removing the liner bag), and the EcosolTM Net Tech and EcosolTM Net Guard by small crane truck

Cleaning by vacuum offers far greater benefits compared to all other methods. After many years of industry experience we believe that this is the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective method for the following reasons:

  • All captured pollutants (and especially fine sediments) are removed from the unit;
  • Pollutants are not manually handled and can be safely transported;
  • Free oils and grease (hydrocarbons) are able to be efficiently removed and stored;
  • No additional machinery other than the eductor truck is required;
  • The internal filtration system is unlikely to be damaged during the cleaning process; and
  • The cleaning costs are significantly less than for other methods.
