Our Approach

Ecosol adopts a unique approach to the management of wastewater pollution control designed to benefit all stakeholders with long-term advantage and is based simply on:

  • Maximising performance; and
  • Minimising risk

    Why was a new approach needed?

    Our research into water pollution which began in 1995, and included input from a range of industry professionals, clearly showed the then-available pollution control devices were both poorly-conceived and badly-designed. Notably,

  • The use of trash racks that often caused more problems than they solved
  • A focus on end-of-line solutions rather than at-source
  • A failure to use an overall treatment-train approach to pollution control
  • Too much emphasis on a system's capital cost, overlooking whole-of-life costs.

    The failure to focus on the critical issues manifested itself in various ways, such as poor pollutant removal efficiencies, higher-than-expected ongoing cleaning costs, and the potential for hazardous flooding. Most stormwater professionals have now accepted that these first-generation "solutions" simply do not work and have turned to engineered, independently-tested products such as those that Ecosol offers.

    We focus on continually developing state-of-the-art technologies and services that help decision-makers such as engineers, councils, developers, and other involved parties overcome their problems.

    Most importantly, to ensure an optimal result, we work closely with all parties throughout the process from specification to implementation to performance review.

    Our approach provides clear benefits to all parties involved:

    Councils/Works Departments - A high quality widely-conforming solution with lower-than-average life costs that ensure ratepayers receive the best value-for-money;

    Consulting engineers - A proven high-performance solution that can be readily recommended to clients in the certainty that it will fully meet their needs;

    Developers/Project managers - Low-risk, competitive and very easy to install systems with fast delivery and readily-available technical advice;

    Sub-contractors/plumbers - Ease of installation with quick turnaround and competitive cost that ensures you will complete your project on time and within budget.

      Our Guiding Principles

      We aim to provide you with:

    • Complete end-to-end service backed by high levels of specialist technical expertise to ensure the right system is specified and installed, and is accompanied by the required after-sales service, and
    • Technologies that are designed to perform to very high levels in critical areas, often exceeding industry standards with lower than average whole-of-life costs. Details of our award-winning innovative solutions can be found here.

      This commitment is underpinned by several key guiding principles that ensure our products:

    • Effectively treat the appropriate flow;
    • Minimise head/hydraulic loss;
    • Have a fail safe by-pass mechanism to prevent flooding;
    • Are fully customisable to meet every individual need;
    • Are not expensive to install and maintain;
    • Are easy to install within internationally accepted safety standards;
    • Meet or surpass all industry standards and tests; and
    • Are aesthetically unobtrusive and environmentally-friendly.

      Ecosol believes these principles should be addressed by all providers of gross pollutant traps. If you are comparing different proprietary GPTs make sure that they all provide you with the above requirements. In this way you ensure that you are comparing units and services of a similar performance and can accurately measure performance and value for money.

      You can use our specifying form to help you determine the right solution for your needs.

      Alternatively, if you are a MUSIC subscriber, we can provide input values and advice for the RSF 100, RSF 1000 and RSF 4000 products.
